I am looking for a campground within 20miles Eurotunnel at Calais which is open on Oct 3-5. Not too keen on Calais Municipal because of overnight noise. Most of the others closed. Am booked early morning Eurotunnel to Flkstn.
Any suggestions? Many thanks.

La bien assise, a castles site has a small number of pitches that are kept open all year if the whole site has closed by these dates. Don't think the shop and pool are open but on site resteraunt and electric water etc available. Not the cheapest but a good site

Fort Lapin at Bleriot Plage is open till 31 Oct. It was kindly recommended on here and we have used it last and this year. Very clean sanitaires, right by the beach, easy access, can't praise it enough. I have a couple of pics.

ps Just remembered there is a very nice Carrefour in Bleriot Plage which is open late, reminded me of a small Waitrose. Also not far from huge Auchan.
A bit further out, but a marvellous site is Pommiers des Trois Pays at Licques (ACSI 1021) link
It is 16.3 miles from the tunnel and is open until 15 November

Glad you liked it. I gave up recommending that camp site here because I came to think no one took any notice ! We always went there when travelled via Calais, but I came to think that Tentz was the only other forum member to go there.
Can you do an up to date review - mine is now 5 years old and absolutely no one has commented since.

Yes thank you, its really great. We only paid €15 for our last night this year, 1st July for a HUGE pitch, clean & warm sanitaires, HOT water, wander on the beach, close to shops to get those last minute pressies etc etc. We were travelling via Dunkerque and we used it, if we were going via Calais it would be even more perfect. Many folks just don't seem to be on the same wave length. I think you are on mine and if you have any other gems please advise!
Yes I will do a review. DONE!!
By the way, I looked at your gallery pics and wondered where your last photo was taken?
We went to another site this year which you had recommended at Montfrin. It was just as you described and we had a good night. It has been bought by a Swiss couple, only been there six weeks, they were doing up one of the sanitaires.
latecamper. last pic on our gallery is Camping Atlantique -Foret at Les Mathes (near La Palmyre) about 10 July 2011. We called this year in early June and they hadn't got round to opening yet (so casual) . We went half a mile along the road to La Palombiere and liked it just as much -and that one has a swimming pool.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
