We have just booked a flight to milan malpensa for a week. Any ideas of where to go? We will have a hire car,no kids with us. Could take a tent. We like mountains,walking,good views.,eating. Lake Maggiore I guess will be very busy in august. Any other suggestions?

We flew to Malpensa a couple of years ago and stayed at Camping Continental on Lake Mergozzo, a small lake off Lake Maggiore. We stayed in a static but they also have pitches. Not sure what your dates are but the camp emptied out the second half of August when all the Dutch left. Lots of great walking and fabulous food in the surrounding area.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
