We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all the wonderful advice we have received from forum members on UKCS.

We returned today from two weeks at Le Paradis, Saint Leon Sur Vezere, Dordogne. We chose this site after reading reviews on this website and we were not disappointed. It lived up to all our expectations.

This site has been invaluable for help with route planning, overnight stops etc. We negotiated Rouen in both directions to perfection after making notes on various threads. We chose Camping Grande Sologne at Nouan Le Fuzelier going south and Camping Sainte Claire at Neufchâtel-en-Bray returning home after reading reviews and suggestions. Both were superb for one nights stays and we received a warm welcome at both.

So thank you one and all. We will write reviews for all 3 sites over the next few days to help others make the right choices for themselves.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

Hi jimJAM,

Glad you had a great time. Le Paradis is our favourite site anywhere and we were there in June for our 7th or 8th time. Recommending sites is not always easy but we have never had any hesitation in recommending Le Paradis. The owners, the Kusters family are lovely and are probably starting to wind down as the high season draws to a close.

Understand it has been incredibly hot there recently. Ellen Kusters posted on Facebook a picture of the thermometer for Saturday the 18th and it was 41.5C. Much too hot for us but if you were there then hope you managed to keep cool. Happy hour with beer at half price probably helped.
