We love La Guyonniere, have been there for the last 3 years, or more specifically the field La Pointe......anyone that has been will understand. The SPACE is amazing.
My question to all you wonderfully knowledgable people, is can you recommend anywhere similar, but further South?
We like...... Space, a beach within 20-30 mins for body boarding and possibly surfing, a pool with a slide, and very basic entertainment, a bar, and a bonus would be wi fi?
We travel from merseyside so have a long journey this end, and do an overnight ferry into St Malo or Caen. The kids age 4 and 6 at the moment are quite good travelling but as we only have 2 weeks don't want to be spending more than say 6 hours travelling in France. Takes 3-4 to La Guy.
Hoping for some great suggestions...... I could trawl the reviews but don't know what I'm looking for hence this question.....
Thank you

Hi there, bearing in mind that you're coming from the North West, the Logis de Breuil at St. Augustin (south of La Rochelle, north of Bordeaux) could be a possibility. I've not been to La Guyonniere, but I've just had a quick look at their website and I reckon the pool complex has got a bit more to it than the one at Logis de B, but if you're after space and a relaxed atmos then you can't go far wrong. And you're only 10/15 minutes from La Grande Cote, which has to boast some of the best breakers on the Atlantic coast. Just noticed you're after a slide - and I don't think there's one of those either.
Have you thought about doing the overnight to either Santander or Bilbao? Quite pricey but an adventure for the kids and then you've got all the sites on the Northern Spanish coast and Biarritz area open to you.
Been to loads of sites and none has had the space of la guyonniere... You need to stay inland to get big pitches, all the ones we've been to closer to the sea have ad much smaller pitches.
