We are going give Germany a try next year - Would be grateful for any recommendations for sites in the Koblenz / Rhine / Moselle valley areas. Have done a fair bit of research and found some decent looking sites, but there is nothing like personal recommendations!
We prefer sites within waling distance of a town or village, apart from that we are quite easy to please
Many thanks

Rudesheim am Rheine has a very nice camp site, a little further south than you want but very nice. There is an outdoors swimming pool next to the site and the campsite is on the Rheine. It is a short walk into the town where there are plenty of things to see and do with some very nice restaurants. Rudesheim is also the home of Asbach, German Brandy and you can do a tour of the distillery.

We haven't stayed there ourselves, but used the stellplatz for motorhomes at Cochem and cycled past that site. Looks quite nice, but, in common with a lot of German sites, pitches are rather on the small side. We saw an English motorhome there which wasn't that large, only just squeezed on his pitch. Apart from that, it is quite near a main road and a railway line, but again, along the Rhine, and the upper part of the Moselle, that is often the case. Not having stayed there, I don't know what the facilities are like, we just cycled along it for a nosey!
It's walking distance of Cochem, and there is also an Aldi very close to the site as well as another supermarket, the name of which escapes me.
salmong Cochem is on the Mosel. Bernkastel on the Mosel is also excellent site at Kues side of the river. In walking distance of the most beautiful old world town you will ever visit. name Kuser Werth. On the Rhine try the site Lorely Blick you can google them both.
