The story is now on the BBC News website and stating that there will be over 100 military police (Gendarmes) located at the village to keep out 'survivalists'.

My guess is that the place will only get swamped with journalists.

It was the Aztecs (different civilisation) who were killed by the Spaniards .  The Mayan culture just 'disappeared' - perhaps they flew off back into space or perhaps they're living under the mountain at Bugarach!  17

Good Morning to Everyone, Good old Mayan's prediction of the end of the world was spot on. I wonder if they worked for the Met Office or as a Politician, As neither can get anything right.

Have a Brilliant Christmas and a Very Happy new Year Everyone..

Thinking of selling caravan for a Yacht!!! so much wet stuff falling in a very damp South Wales. I have developed webbed feet and hands ( evolution )

Well we sat it out in the cupboard under the stairs, with all the Christmas booze, and our tin foil Christmas hats on. We've just come out from the cupboard but the world is spinning a bit oddly, neither of us can walk straight, and we both feel a bit sick. I reckon it must be due to a polar shift, or just possibly a brandy and babycham, two gin and tonics, three French brandies, four mulled ciders, five Irish Golds, six geese a laying cocktails, seven (oh no, now my memory's gone too...................). Must be the end of the World post....................!

I would have preferred a gin & tonic, but we had to have rampant sex just in case....has played havoc with my arthritis
