Hi guys,
Last year we LOVED Lac Bleu at Doussard on Annecy but cant get the same pitch this year. They have offered us pitch 098, over on the far side of the site, near the little footbridge that goes over to the multisports. I am concerned we will be in the shade the whole time.
I have had a look on googleearth and its impossible to tell. Does anyone have any experience of that side of the site?
Thanks,
Christine

Glad you got it sorted out SR. We loved our lakeside pitch at Lac Bleu in summer 2009.
If you anyone else is considering Lac Bleu want to see some photos and read about our stay google "Tim Irwin caravan" and you can read and see details of our stay in my French Alps Journal.
Been looking today at campsites around Annecy and have decided Lac Bleu looks lovely. Can anyone tell me what the weather is like in the summer - were going on 27th JUly for 2 weeks. Not been to this part of France before so no idea! All help gratefully received!
Thanks x

I have only been once and it was a heat wave, fabulous weather at end of July/ August. But I think you can expect sunny weather the odd dull day generally, although others may be more expert than me.
Definitely worth the drive, it is the most beautiful place I have ever been, and it doesn't matter what your pursuits are on hols: beach, culture, mountain adventures, food, history, water sports, cycling, scenery, sunbathing, Annecy has it all. I think when God created the Rhone Alps he was showing off!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
