Sorry but not wrong at all. This is a typical toll area with the left hand lane reserved for telepeage users only and height restricted. All other lanes are open to any users including telepeage users (as designated by the orange t). The right hand lane is open to anybody too.
The ASF site says this:
If you use your badge with a vehicle of class 2 (eg caravan) or Class 5 (motorcycle), you must use the manual lanes at the entrance and the exit. On exit, then you hand your ticket and your badge to the attendant that records your visit. Your trip will be accounted for on your monthly bill.
So blueexpo97 if you've been towing and accepted the "beep" rather than handed the beeper to an attendant I would check your bill just in case you've been charged as an HGV

Have never been through an extreme RH lane that has had an attendant, all have been automated, and as the barrier was rising the Class display always said 2.
Should also like to say that I have never been through a "typical" toll area like that, all have had the RH lane for Class 2 & 3.

Hi again, Our vehicle is a campervan 2.2m high so I have read all the above posts and started suffering a slight panic about buying the tag and it serving no purpose other than us avoiding fishing around for change. However I have spoken to someone from the UK office that sells the tags and she has assured me that MOST toll roads will have 2 tag only lanes, one height restricted and one non-height restricted. So hopefully we won't have to queue up with all the people fishing for change! Would be great to hear from any other class 2 tag owners!

I will stress that this is only my experience of every toll area we have used. The answer would be yes.

Oh dear. As per my previous post, there are some peage gares that have a 30 km/h lane which IS NOT height restricted - just checked and the roof is still on the caravan. We also drove through two or three of these last year and they are great.
As per this link. The autoroute companies plan to preceed with more of these lanes as they are able to. Funnily enough no queue at these lanes.
Kenren, you may not have seen one but it does not mean we are wrong if we state these exist.
As per most things it is up to the user to work out if they feel they are worthwhile. Even on the normal lanes not having to sort cash or card out is a definite plus point for us (and works out quicker at the time). They are also invaluable at unmanned tolls.
Haven't had trouble with the plastic for a long time now - Visa works well in the CB lanes - so long as I drive close enough for Mrs MP to reach the slot.
