Hi all, spotted this campsite (Campingpark Freibad) on the border just by Echternach and was hoping for some info, this will be our first trip to Germany, we did France last year and loved it but fancy trying somewhere new, the site is right on the border (German side), any help or info appreciated, campsite link below

Not sure where we are going to end up, but we are planning on Camping in that sort of area in a couple of weeks, but that one is not open when we are there. Provisionally we are looking to go Camping Pruemtal, however the wife has decided she wants to go a bit nearer Trier. I am letting her do the searching though :-)

Our Problem is that most sites open at the End of March.

I would also appreciate any suggestions in that sort of area with reasonable Public Transport link to a largish town, (rail or Bus) Any other Suggestions ?

Best Regards
Nathan

HI there,we stayed on this site last June on our return from Italy, it s a super location if like us, you like to eat out, or have the odd coffee or 2, because you can walk into town just over the bridge, and there is everything you need, there are also are some lovely walks by the river. Trier is worth a visit.  We had a super pich on the river bank but be warned you need a very long electric cable(40-50meters), the man in reception said we must buy one from his shop, even though the young lady had told us earlier that one would be provided!!

Luxembourg city is not too far but I dont know about public transport as we went by car,

we have been visiting France for years, last year was our first time in Germany, we enjoyed it so much we are visiting the Rhine region in May, so if any one has any tips or advice it would be appreciated.

Gonkie
