With this card are you able to book pitches advance of your holiday or do you just turn up at site and see if they have spaces?

Just looking at getting one

Thank you for your help

The general idea is just to turn up, as being out of season there will not be a problem finding a pitch.

On the other hand the Eriba touring club etc, may have decided to turn up the day before your arrival, in which case it would have been prudent to have booked if you really must be on that particular campsite.

Of course pre-booking may involve having to pay a booking fee, which is on top of your Tarrif, as it is not treated as a deposit.

Also pre-booking could involve having to make a € cash deposit, via your Bank if Credit Cards are not supported at the campsite.

If I was using the ACSI CampingCard I would choose not to book.

Generally, when you are able to use the ACSI Card then it usually means the site will have pitches available.  That's what many people who holiday in France like - it means no pre-booking and you can just go where you please.

You can 'ask' about a reservation using the form on the ACSI Card website - and they will tell you whether it's necessary or not.  I doubt it would be on most sites, until you get right to end of the period when the card is accepted, when it's running into peak season.
