We are thinking about Belgium this year rather than the usual France. We have 2 kids (7 & 13) so need to cover all bases in terms of what to do...... good swimming pool, lots to do, cities and towns (and beer) for us, some WW1 and WW2 stuff would be also be interesting as 13 year old will be doing it in History next year. We also like hopping over into other countries for days out (Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, France etc). Can you recommend a good base area?
Any advice or recommendations or is it to be France again?
Thanks, Benski X

I have spent hour upon hour checking Recreatiepark De Lilse Bergen out and every report is excellent.
Hope this helps.
Although its not a swimming pool they do have a large man made lake and beech plus there is endless things to keep the kids happy

We've stayed at Camping Memling and camping Blaarmeersen, the latter is a better site and has a beach. We were fortunate and had a couple of days good weather to relax on the beach. We have two children aged 6yrs and 4yrs and both enjoyed days out in Bruges and Ghent. We also stayed in Luxembourg and en-route to Ghent we passed a Space Centre approx 1 hour from the border of Luxembourg. We decided to stop and visit. It's a visitor attraction and it's ESA (European Space Agency) not a patch on Nasa's in Florida but definitely worth a morning or afternoon visit and money. Would appeal to a 7yrs and 13yrs.
