Hi all, just curious as to wether anyone has been to both of these and in a position to advise which one is the better?
We are going with friends to the Loire this year and have kinda narrowed it down to these 2, the only down side i can see is allicourts is apparently more of a "resort" than a campsite, our friends have 2 kids aged 9 and 14, so any opinions on either of these would be appreciated, i have read the reviews but am still unable to make up my mind.
Many thanks.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Some friends of ours have been to allicourts a few times with young children and they really enjoyed it, I think the only reason they changed was a spell of poor weather which you just can't predict.
We've been to des Marais and have researched staying at Les Alicourts but not actually stayed there (as decided on a different region) From what I know I think it comes down to where you want to spend your time - mostly on site or more sightseeing? Des Marais is better placed for sightseeing in the Loire, Alicourts is about an hr I think from des Marais. If you are basically wanting to stay on site most of the time then there is a lot more to do at Alicourts.

Hi, we stayed at both, marais a few years ago now in a mobile home, walking distance to a few little shops, smaller site when we were there, I liked it though. We went to Allicourts 2 years ago and stayed in a chalet, and 2 years before that also.. We had good weather so definitely helped. Lovely pool complex, lots more going on for children, lovely indoor pool too (had to pay), lake, golf on site. It was quite remote though, a few miles to any shops etc. Overall I preferred Allicourts.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
