Hi all bit confused ( nowt new) camped in francebefore but this time we've gone posh and got electric for our tent, got the normal uk hook up with rcd and a uk to France converter lead is this all we need? Read somewhere on hear that we needs polarity converter - is that the 2 pin thingy we've just bought or is it somthing else?
Need electric for a cool box, light and for phone charging
Thanks

Dont worry about a polarity converter for what you have. You have what you need, the standard EHU and the 2 pin continental. No problem. We have fridge, heater, lights, kettle, laptop, phone chargers, battery chargers for cameras etc etc and never had a problem.
All will be OK, your EHU may have a Polarity warning light on it, many do.
As far as I am aware it is not legal for retailers to sell "Polarity Converters" folk like me who have one would of made there own.
But in this modern age whether your Polarity is reversed or not, will not make any difference, but some folk just like there Polarity to be were it should be. it's more of a fetish than a requirement to not have your Polarity reversed.

If you have a EHU with the built in polarity warning light in it, then if the polarity is reversed the light will come on the electrics will not work.. I know this because it has happened to us when in France on our first trip. - we ended up renting a cable from the campsite. We have since made up a cable which we have marked up reversed.
