Looking at the cover ADAC offer it looks very competitive and i've read all the excellent reviews offered by previous users. One thing that concerns me is the upper limit of cover for breakdowns and towing, unless i've read it wrong (highly likely)the cover is limited to 200 euros, that doesn't seem much?????
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Coincidentally, I just used my ADAC cover to get my car towed from home to a dealer (by the AA). However, it was only 10 miles, so I'm sure it wasn't anwhere near that amount.
They did mention on the phone that it was limited to 200 euros and I had the same thought - 'that isn't much!' - as I've heard horror stories of people being quoted £2k to get towed from somewhere in France to Calais!
But, I think the idea is, if you breakdown, they tow you to a nearby garage to get it fixed (which is unlikely to ever cost more than 200 euros). And normal breakdown cover, I don't believe, ever covers much more than that - repairs after recovery are paid for by you or any warranty you might have.
------------- 'In later life, you will be more disappointed with the things you didn't do than with the things you did.' - Mark Twain
Might that restriction apply to towing costs off a French motorway where only designated agents may do this which would not include the ADAC, or any other general breakdown service?
200 euro towing limit with ADAC ? Well it's 300 euros to be towed out of the Mont Blanc tunnel. Are we starting to see the approach of the end of the hype about ADAC ??

Cover for Greenflag We will arrange and pay for a local motoring assistance provider to attend and attempt to repair the vehicle or, if necessary, provide and pay for transportation of the vehicle, you and your passengers to the nearest suitable repairer, up to a maximum cost of £250.
So broadly in line but ADAC is overall far cheaper.
Perhaps the answer to the problem is to avoid the Mont Blanc Tunnel
I think there is some misunderstanding here.
