Anyone done this. We are staying here at the end of the month and plan a day visit to Paris. There is a bus from the site but it would get us back a little earlier than preferred. I have looked at trains from Compiegne however they seem more expensive than the site bus so prob not worth while for the sake of an hour or 2. Anyone any suggestions?

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We did the coach trip last summer cheesystraw and found it to be ideal.
You leave the site at about 8.00am (if my memory serves me right) and are in Paris for about 9.30am. You get the whole day in the City and the bus leaves at about 7.00pm, getting back for about 8.30pm.
We found it to be plenty of time to see the sights, especially using the hop on-hop off open top tour buses. In fact, we were worn out by the time we got back on the bus.

We used it last Wednesday asTicklemepink says it's ideal, the bus leaves at 0750 arrives at 0930 (traffic dependant) and then leaves at 1845 back at the site for about 2030 by that time you have had enough, we walked from the drop off point at Palais de Congres to Arc de Triomph and then did the red bus tour for 29 euro each, hop on hop off all day long at the attractions.
If you want to drive and park as I suggested earlier there are several possibilities
a) park at the airport and take the train in from there
b) look at the route map of RER train line D1 which comes in from the north side of Paris. The outer stations are Orry la Ville, Survilliers-Fosses, Louvres, etc. Put any of those place names into wonderful mappy.com and click on parking. All the parkings will appear on the map with distances from the station. many will be underground with a height limit of 1.90 metres.
c) if you want to drive further in the www.parkingsdeparis.com will give you a map of all the parkings inside the Peripherique ring road and you can take the metro rather than the RER from there.
The bus to the city from the site is convenient but very dear for families.

drive definitely ! park in the Disney village carpark. It's cheaper and closer than te main capark !
Thanks Rachieb and few cloudy, Think i will drive to DLP, I believe you, just a very skeptical Scotsman!! Why parking would be half the price so much nearer the attraction!
