Just trying to find out if the Red / White marker board that Fiamma sell is a legal requirement in Europe - if so where ?
For some reason I can't remember I seem to think it is in Spain but no where else. I've toured in France and Germany previously and not had one and never got pulled.
Anyone know for sure

The rule is that anything that projects beyond the normal dimensions of the vehicle should be marked so that other road users are aware of it.
It was meant for those vans and lorries which often had poles and ladders sticking out behind. The rule states "any" projection and Spain has interpreted it as just that.
They can be bought for about a fiver, so it seems daft not to have one and so save potential grief
Could someone post a link or a photo of what they mean here please? I'm driving down to France in a few weeks with a MaxxRaxx and four bikes. It will have a proper lightboard and number number plate. Will I need something else?

Thanks for that. Will remember if we head to Spain some time. The rack does have hi vis markers on it so that can be deemed as adequate but it depends on your interpretation....
For Claydoncamper if you have a standard lighting board on the back rack that should be fine I would imagine, unless you're heading for Spain or Italy maybe....
