Thanks to all for your recommendations of places to visit and campsites in different areas of Holland and to Nora for things to do in and around Delft. I will spend many happy hours following up your recommendations and doing further research.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

Not much different ? I suggest a visit to the fine old historic city of Groningen in the north.
Off-topic, but that just happens to be where my parents got married, in the Martini-church. Been back there a couple of times fairly recently to do some genealogy research.

Indeed, I've been there, its just a city, with a big square in the middle with cafes all around it & the same shops as any other Dutch town or city. Everywhere has something going for it but Holland is much the same anywhere, wherever you go the experience won't be much different. I've driven around most of it in my truck driving days & continue to return once or twice a yr as a camper but I don't go for the scenery.
So that sums up Holland then. Your post comes across rather negative, and in any case, don't all towns and cities in the UK, France, Germany etc also have the same shops? Yes, Holland is flat apart from Limburg, but there are some nice town centres with beautiful churches and other buildings. Some nice stretches of beach, the Waddenzee, lakes, rivers and canals. And of course the famous Keukenhof. It hasn't got dramatic scenery like some countries, but there is plenty to do and see.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
