We did ours a couple of weeks ago for August. I just went on the tesco website, put in the numbers of the vouchers we had, they e-mailed me a token number and I phoned eurotunnel and booked...it was so easy - first time I've done it.
I think I have just about enough vouchers for next summers trip maybe a few more. If I transfer all my vouchers for a token will I lose any vouchers which are in excess of the required fare or will they just take the required number. I don't want to ring up to book, find the fare has gone up then have to pay cash for the difference.

They don't give any change on the vouchers, so either do it exact or just under and pay the difference.

We are thinking of booking eurotunnel for May/June but are not absolutely sure on dates. Is there an amendment fee if we decide to change the date later?
None whatsoever! If you do change bookings, then all you could have to pay is the difference between what you have paid for your existing booking and the new booking.
I've changed a few times in the past, and for a booking which cost £122 (£2 with Tesco vouchers!), changed to one costing £129, I just paid the £7 difference.
I've already changed my May/June booking for next year, and as the price was the same I paid exactly nothing
Just be very aware on how much ticket prices can go up near the time of the trip if the crossing gets booked up.
I looked into changing one of my dates 1 week before the trip 2 years ago -
I had booked a return crossing for Aug in January Approx cost for car/roofbox & trailer £240
When I tried to change the outward crossing a week before my trip they wanted an extra £150 for the crossing.
Eurotunnel put the prices up as the crossings get full, just like the airlines.
I Just wanted people to be aware of how much these tickets can go up if you have to change last minute, the Olympics were on at the time, so maybe thats why the price difference was so much for me.

Yes, prices do go up the nearer you get to your booked date(s). I wanted to ensure I got my choice of outward crossing, but the dates for my return weren't available at that time. So I just booked any return (cheapest), then as soon as the date for my return became available I rang and changed. So it was still months off, therefore no difference in price on my chosen return trip.

When we arrived back at Calais a day early we managed to get on an early trip back. Having driven on to the train as the last vehicle on the carriage it transpired we were a foot too long and they couldn't shut the doors. So we had to back off and wait on the platform for the next one. Managed to perform the maneuver in one - not without a little perspiration.
Oh my goodness, that must have been a challenge to say the least.
How did you manage to get on a day early? We normally get on a couple of hours early on the booked day, no earlier. Did you go to one of the manned booths so you could ask in person?
Yes went straight to the manned both. Picked the one with the Union Jack sign and it turned out to be a French woman who's English was not overly good. We had intended to stay in Calais overnight but made good time that day and arrived in Calais at lunchtime so we thought we would chance our luck. It did cost an extra 40 euros but we saved on the cost of an overnight stop so it wasn't too bad.

All sorted and booked. Sunday 11th May 10-20 out - £142, Saturday 28th June 10-20 back £102 total £242-00 - £80's worth of vouchers + £4-00 on the Visa card.
Thanks for all the advice.

Thanks for the info, 40 Euros isn't that much extra to pay to get across a day earlier then. When we turned up this time, we were offered a crossing an hour and a half earlier for no extra charge, or 2 hours earlier at 90 Euros!! Doesn't make sense really if you can get across a day earlier for 40 Euros. Mind you, that was an automated booth rather than a manned one.
You got a good deal for next year, with only £4 to pay, thanks to Mr Tesco.
When booking next years trip I did ask about changing dates and nice lady confirmed there is no surcharge as long as there is no change in the journey cost.I also asked if there was an increase in the fare cost if it was possible to use Tesco vouchers for the increase. She said no you have to pay the difference in full.Didn't think to ask what happens if you change the booking to a slot that is actually cheaper !!!
