Hi DazBlade.
Next time you are contemplating driving 15 hours can you please post your planned route on here so we can all avoid the area!

whats the problem with driving 15 hours. there was no mention that it was only 1 driver, could have been 2 or 3 drivers.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Several observations ... having driven long distances, myself ...
1. Wandering around the road has little to do with distance driving, more to do with a range of things from alcohol, to mobile phones, to in-car distractions and chatter, to eating at the wheel, to inattentiveness etc etc
2. As DS observes, we have no idea whether more than one driver covered the distance/time.
3. We have no idea how many breaks were taken ... OP says he drove at 80 with CC activated, pretty well all the way. 750 miles in 15 hours equates to an average of 50 mph ... so clearly, breaks were taken.
4. We have no idea of OP's physiological make up ... he may be a natural long hour worker ... there are many of us about.
5. He covered the trip ... safely, I presume ... and without any confrontation with traffic authorities ... I surmise, else he'd hardly have posted on here.
6. If he is/was able to do it safely ... then why the snide remarks ... grrrr
It is a long way ..to go to the south of Spain, and also a bit expensive.
I say this because I am from Barcelona and actually living in Ireland. My advice is taking a ferry from Plymouth to Santander (1/2 way you can save driving along France). From Santande to the south of Spain (let's say..Seville) is about 8 hours in the motorway.
Anything please do not hesitate to ask me :)
