Hello looking for some advice please. We were thinking of spending 1 week in the ardeche hopefully a site near the river and then travelling into Spain, just across the border for a further week the will be as soon as they break up at the end of July.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We thought about doing that, but had such a fantastic time in the Ardeche 3 years ago that we've decided to do our entire trip there. There is more than enough to occupy yourself for a fortnight there, and we'll save Spain for another time. We've decided that, for us, by the time we've settled in and kicked back after a busy year at work, it'd be time to pack up and move, which isn't a holiday for us, so we prefer a one base trip, especially as we're renting a static and wouldn't want to have to pack and unpack again.
But if you have your own kit and don't mind the upheaval mid-way through your holiday, then it's easily do-able and would make a great variety of holiday.
I'm assuming that you aren't including your overnights there and back in your two weeks away though? You're realistically, if towing, looking at two stops each way, or at least one if not towing.
Yep, we have been back to the Ardeche 3 years on the trot, same campsite, even same pitch!, Domaine de Gil at Ucel within walking distance 1mile, of the Spa town "Val's Les Bains" and just 3 mile drive to the bustling town of Aubenas, which is half a € bus ride from "Val Les Bain"
Our last visit was July 2012 for 17 nights, and even at that time of the year it was a relatively quiet area.
The Dutch tend to arrive on mass towards the middle of July onwards, is what we have found over the years.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
