I see that this site near Ouistreham now takes Camping Cheques and so it's now cheaper than les Pommiers. I was wondering whether anyone has had recent experience of staying here and whether there has been any improvement or is this just an attempt to get people to stay here by offering cheaper prices without tackling the issues many of us have had with the site?

I can't answer your question and was going to volunteer to check it out as an overnight stop when we go that way in June, but their reception shuts at 7 pm and we' re on the ferry that gets in about 9.30pm. so it will have to be Les Pommiers again where there's sure to be someone there to greet us. Sorry.
Just thought it might be worth a look but if Reception closes at 7pm it's a non-starter. Les Pommiers here we come! Do you book in advance as you're getting in late or are they happy for you just to turn up off the late ferry?
Hi,
In fairness we haven't stayed here in a few years but last time we did, we e mailed them as we had a late ferry and they opened to let us in and that was at 2200.
We did have a wander around the site last year when we were in the area and it did seem vastly improved.
I hope this helps

An e mail today from Les Hautes Coutures says that if I reserve a pitch and pay in advance they will leave an envelope for me at the gate containing the barrier code if I arrive on the late ferry to Ouistreham.
In fact I shall also just go to Les Pommiers where there is no need to book and the office staff will be there to take payment at the time.
