Try camping International at Maisons Laffitte.

Only 5 mins walk from the RER station and 10mins train into Paris.  Site is basic but has everything you'll need.  There is never anyone around in the daytime as everyone is in Paris.

Maisons Laffitte is a nice town with shops, bars etc.

HTH

Agree that Maisons Lafitte is good for access to Paris. We've stayed there twice, right by the Seine.

There's some rail noise from the bridge over the river, but you'll be so tired with your days in Paris that you won't notice at night.

We found the site a bit unkempt on our second visit, but that didn't bother us as we were hardly there. Showers were rather drafty.  We'd go again for the convenience to the station - frequent trains, and about 20-30 mins.journey, with good connection to RER and Metro.

I would agree with the recommendations for Maison Lafitte. The pitches are not huge, but access is good. As well as being convenient by rail for Paris, Versailles is very easily reached by car from here; I would definintely recommend a visit if you have time.

Thanks everyone,

Seems to be some sort of consensus here!

We stayed on this site, which was clean, well organised and amazingly handy for the centre of Paris - only 15 mins walk! It had an onsite bar/restaurant too, with terrace dining:

It's the ONLY site as far as we know in Paris. (Signposting a bit vague however!)
