There's a municipal campsite in Amboise itself - Campng Municipal de I'lle d'Or, which should be fine for an overnight stay. Of it you want a smaller site, outside a town setting there is a small municipal site in Onzain (a village) which is very nice and cheap too!
You'll find other municipal sites here and there are plenty of them around in that area.
As you're in a camper you will be fine on any of the sites, but for those with a twin axle, I would check in advance. One of the reviews for the site in Amboise mentions no twin axles.
