Just hoping someone else is having/has had the same problems trying to get information from Les Deux Glaciers Camp Site to organizie a winter season stay for the 2014/15 season. Any information/advice/experiences would be helpful....Martin

How are you trying to get information? Email? Phone? I don't know what it is about email, but campsites (and the French in general) don't seem to use email like we do. I've found that if you get a reply at all it will probably take ages!
I would just give them a ring - most site reception staff speak some English or will put you on to someone who does.
I called in last winter and managed to speak to reception but not very helpful, I've tried emails - as you point out - no reply. I rang and was told to speak to them again later in september as they were in their busy season.....
All I wanted was to discuss winter rates etc as they did indicate these are different to those published on the web-site..
I also hoped that someone who has tried a winter season at this site could let me know how it went? any advice/pitfalls?
We have not stayed there I`m afraid but have always found telephoning more useful than email. I don`t think there are too many members on here that go camping in the winter snow but maybe someone will come along with more information. Otherwise you may just need to wait till Sept and try again.

We have just returned from there and your comments come as no surprise. The reception staff were very surly and the site in general is a bit run down now, not as we remembered it five years ago when we last visited. I'm not sure we will go back there.
Although a longer distance and more expensive, have you considered Switzerland? We stayed at Camping Jungfrau in Lauterbrunnen - what a place!
