Hi, we are a family of 4 (us and 2 teenage boys). We have a Vw campervan and a bell tent and are looking for a couple of campsites no more than 2-3 hours from Santander or Bilbao. Any recommendations will be very welcome . Thank you

We've also stayed at. Playa Joyel twice.

It's my favourites beach.

This year I was in my inflatable kayak and took a stranded Spanish couple back tot the town of Isla, with their boxes of nice cakes! They didn't speak and English and I think they must've walked across the estuary at low tide, gone to the bakers and then got a shock when they realised it was a proper tidal river.

Agree ... only worth it if you want to spend a day in Santillana ... but you can 'do' it in half a day as a visit from somewhere else.
