We are hoping to attend the antiques fair at Chambourd in May 2015. We have previously camped at the municipal site at Muides. Any one got a recommendation for a site that is nearer? We will be two adults and one large tent and love municipals. We are quite happy to try commercial sites. Thank you

We stayed just along the road from Chambord this summer at a lovely little Aire Naturelle at Huisseau sur Cosson. There are are 25 pitches, though only 8 outfits there in late June, all neat and tidy, lots of space, good toilets and showers, and everything very clean. We always refer to it as M.Delaboissiere's garden, but it's official name is Camping de Chatillon.
I think it's open from 1st May onwards through the summer.
There's already an accurate review on CampSite search from others who found it before us.
We've stayed at Camping Chateau des Marais in Muides a couple of times now, and really like it. (We do have kids though, and go for the nice pool area!) It's open for accommodation from April and for pitches from 7th May.
