Even passing through Rouen Via Michelin the route from Dunkirk to sarlat is given as 538 miles and 374 miles from caen. Which gives 164 miles difference.

I wouldnt bother as no matter what, "their" route will always be better, even if its longer and more expensive.

Hi, how I got my £120 saving Portsmouth-Caen instead of Dover-Dunkirk. Distance from Chester to Dover is 40 miles further than to Portsmouth. X 2 = 80 Miles. Distance from Dunkirk to Sarlat is 165 miles further than Caen - Sarlat X 2 = 330 miles + 80 miles =410 miles. Take in to consideration 2 nights extra site fees plus Tolls for Dunkirk-Rouan and it comes over £120.
For us now that the Dover-Dunkirk prices have gone up compared with Portsmouth-Caen, we go Portsmouth route.

So it costs LESS than  120 pounds to use the Pompey ferry V the Dov/Dunk or Calais ferry.  Interesting
