EU law requires 2yr warranty for new cars, UK warranty require 3yr min warranty for new cars. Outside UK only 2yrs of warranty has, by law to be honoured after that its up to individual manufacturer/importer so read small print very carefully. Ford warranty is particularly poor but others, Kia for example have 7yr warranty good all over EU.
Many t&c's do state you might have to pay for warranty work outside UK & keep all receipts for reimbursment when you get home. Also do not expect UK levels of service in France. Long lunch breaks & most of staff on holiday Jul/Aug.
