No problem on the wilder, remote beaches. However, like Spain most of the organised beaches dogs are banned at least until Oct 1st when bans are often lifted for the winter.
We found that generally Spain and Portugal were quite dog unfriendly especially compared to France!
Some locals seem to assume all dogs are dangerous so are surprised to see a friendly well-trained dog as ours is! Also many dogs there are seemingly just used as 'barking machines' to guard property. Very sad.
