What do your teenagers actually enjoy doing? As Dartman says, if they enjoy surfing and other watersports the beaches of the west coast are a good option but if they like snorkelling then the rocky coasts of the Med are perhaps better.
If they like climbing, mountain-biking, and canyoning then it's the wrong area!
If they like art galleries, and history then you may be better going elsewhere.
My sons had favourite sites, but as David Klyne hints, at that age it was much more to do with the families (or rather the girls) next door. We actually booked a specific pitch on one site (first time ever) because they wanted to meet up with the two Dutch girls from next door.
Their favourite area was the Ardeche where they could canoe, bodyboard, jump from rocks, climb, go canyoning or bungee jumping, go caving, and just 'hang-out' around the river. It was a lively area for teenagers, with plenty going on in Vallon Pont d'Arc, and in other campsites in the area.
