At present I use a 4.5kg Butane bottle for cooking etc . Are there preferred bottles used in france i.e. Camping Gaz, will I have any problems exchanging my Butane bottle should I run out whilst camping in France.

If you use Camping Gaz in the UK, you'll have NO problem getting it in France, as it's a French company anyway. Sold at supermarkets, garages, some shops etc. Most campsites will either stock it, or tell you where to get it locally?
