Been trying to find camping travel insurance any suggestions guys the only one we tried would only insure the contents of the tent for £250 and our fridge cost not far from that
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
I'm not sure that anyone actually does 'Camping' insurance.
We've been talking today and all 'Holiday Insurance' seems to cover everything from cancellation or curtailment, illness, repatriation, luggage loss, etc., and some of these are inappropriate for caravanners. I'm sure there is a case for specialist insurance for those who are driving to their destination, taking their own equipment with them, who require no frills insurance. There is also a case for just having 'illness and repatriation cover' rather than all the other add ons which are offered. Red Pennant Personal cover may provide only this, but is so then it's nearly as expensive as taking out a combined breakdown and personal cover package.
It doesn't seem easy to find, so if anyone has any suggestions for when we renew they would be very much appreciated.

We found one that covered everything but only £250 contents , if nothing else is available we will most likely go with this one

Isurance is about risk. It unlikely any insurer would cover £100s worth of gear left unattended under a piece of cloth.
As apposed to a tin can with 1000's worth of gear that's easier and less conspicuous to break into than a bit of cloth .
The caravan club we tried today so thanks to the suggester but it doesn't really cater for tents and was extremely expensive
The search continues

Check your home insurance ... many cover your possesions when out of the home as well.
I've claimed, and got, two video cameras via my home insurance ... one stolen whilst skiing .. from my pocket in a crowded ski lift ... another in white water when hired kayak rolled with barrel whose lid seal was faulty.

Do you know we are covered for a lot more than I thought we were and we've found a few company's who insure tents and contents . My insurance covers 90 days eu driving and breakdown . Looks like we just need to get the tent and travel insurance . Be working on it all on the weekend .
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
