Hi,
I am looking for ideas on a good campsite for tenting not more than 2 and a half hours from Cherbourg please at the end of August.

I will only have a week and I dont want to spend it driving so I am looking for a great campsite to suit older kids with nice walking areas for parents. It doesn't have to have a beach.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated

There are cheap campsites down the west side of the Cotentin peninsula, looking out towards the Channel Isles, where active children can go off the site for sand yachting at breakneck speed at low tide, try some surfing, play tennis, have rock climbing lessons in the old quarry, go out for off road cycling and spend time in the nearest town swimming pool as well as on the beach.

And there are expensive campsites with water slides, discos, entertainment and everything laid on at the campsite.

So it depends which you and they prefer.
