I'm looking for a campsite, just for a stopover after we arrive on the ferry from Portsmouth at 8pm, and before we drive down to our destination the next day, although having said that we may call in for a quick visit to Mont Saint-Michel, and then carry on down.
Just want clean facilities, nice showers and not too far off the main road network.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thank you.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
It may be better to stay nearer Cherbourg. One hour from your arrival time will be 9pm and maybe site receptions will be closed then.
There is a municipal site just as your clear the docks, Camping Collignon. At the roundabout on the edge of the docks turn left, 3rd exit and follow the coast for about 1/2 mile and take the first right and just follow the road around to the left where the site is on the left.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
