Hi
We are doing our first camping trip abroad staying in Rue des Clauses
66470 Sainte Marie in a tent . We have found an hotel for a stop over going down which is Orleans. However when we are coming home we want to stop in a hotel on the outskirts of Paris but where we can get the metro into the city. However (and here is the catch) we need them to have a car park that can accomodate our car and trailer? Anyone got any suggestions.
Also does anyone have any reviews or experience staying at the Sainte Marie campsite.
Many thanks in advance I am sure I will be back with many more questions before we go in 5 weeks! Lol

Usually Premiere Classe hotels have large car parks, with a coded access. Outskirts of Paris maybe more difficult, so why not stay at Camping International at Maisons Lafitte, where you can use your tent, and then travel in on the RER railway, which takes about 20 minutes into central Paris, and costs around 10 euros for a day return ticket which will take you to all the major sights in Paris.
There are many hotels in Paris especially the latin and business quarter with underground parking Thats good as its usually a full door for security as opposed to a barrier Bad if your trying to turn a trailer round down there its unhitch and maneuver I’d suggest Versailles (on the RER line), which is a destination in its own right for the château and park. If you give me an idea of how posh you want or not as for example the Residence Mercure le Scenario at Paris Port Saint Cloud has secure parking but its about 15 euros a night from memory and that's for the car ..many hotels have secure parking but it depends on your budget

Uttoxeter (Race days)
Le Serignan Plage (clothed one) August and Scheveningen on way back
Thanks both for your responses.
Not wanting to put the tent back up tbh. It's a 10 birth so a lot for one night.
Thanks budget is around £100 for 4 of us. We are willing to pay for parking that's not a problem but all the hotels I have emailed have said no room for a trailer - thanks

If you've only got one night, are you sure you'll have enough time to get into Paris, or rather have enough time there to make it worth while?
We always like to have a full day somewhere, which effectively means two nights, and even then one day in Paris isn't very long if you want to see anything much at all.
It's a long drive, 529 miles, from Perpignan to Paris (or for that matter, the 449 miles from Orleans to Paris on the way down) and will leave little time, I would have thought, for sight-seeing after such a drive. Viamichelin suggests eight hours and forty-two minutes, and experienced travellers would usually add at least a couple of hours to this for comfort stops. refuelling, and meals. It's easy for first-timers to underestimate the distances involved.

We have seen the estimated times and we are thinking if we are too tired then so be it but if we can do it we will. Thanks for your post
We are travelling with a car and trailer to Sarlat and have booked Novotel Orleans La Source on way down and Premiere Classe Roissy north of Paris on way home.
We have driven to Sarlat in one day but we were absolutely shattered and still had to get tent set up so have learnt a lesson from it.

try this place then its the Comfort Hotel Paris Est Saint Maur. its got underground parking no idea how much . the trick with the trailer is to email them a picture with dimensions asking can they find a corner for it. dont just ring them and even if they say no just ask can they check. It is a way but easily do able 500 ish miles at 75 say 7 hours add 2 for others a 9 am start and arrive 6 with a few stops including lunch

Hey
That's the same hotel we have booked on the way down.
I will heck out the Paris one - thank you
I too would urge caution doing journeys of this length on my first time abroad.
About 5 years ago we did a shorter journey along pretty much the same route - Montlucon (about an hour north of Clermont Ferrand) to near Carcassonne - and that took over seven hours mainly due to the A75 from Pezenas down to the near the junction with the E15/A9 near Beziers taking well over an hour - that bad I got off and went through Beziers completing the journey on N & D roads.
The E15/A9 can be extremely busy especially at weekends.
We stayed here, when we did DLP a few years ago ... two stops from Disney, and twenty mins into Paris Centre .... station was about ten minutes walk from Hotel ... hotel had its own secure and free parking. This site is useful for other availabilities and planning.
