We came off the M20 at 8 and followed diversion down the A20 to 11 where we rejoined the M20.
When we did it (late afternoon a couple of weeks ago) northbound traffic on the A20 was just one long queue but southbound was moving fine - no idea if that's the norm

We did that same journey nearly 4 weeks ago now, mid-morning we joined the A20 and it took us nearly 2 hours to travel 30 miles. We found the same as you, northbound was just one long queue, but southbound was moving fine then too.
