I am looking for a site somewhere around the riviera for next summer. We will have a 14 and 11 yr old so are looking for a site that they will enjoy.
We tend to like quiet , spacious sites so this may be something of a departure to us.
Would like to do day trips to Nice and Monaco so within striking distance of these would be good.
Definitely don't want to be a near a road, not at all bothered about kids clubs, not massive beach lovers so proximity to beach isn't essential.
Manythanks
Simon
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Frejus makes for a good base for visiting the Cote d Azur, about 45 mins drive to St Tropez which makes for a nice day out.
Plenty of campsites to choose from in and around the area, we have been to Camping de Vaudois this last two years in July, lovely campsite but possibly to quiet for some.
hi francais, what sort of route do you normally take when you go to frejus, and how many stopovers on route would you recommend, we like yourselves are from the north west of england, in bolton, lancs, recently joined the b f voyage club as we have done brittany for the last 3yrs via plymouth to roscoff,
when we travel to picardy in may half-term we use dover -calais which is the cheapest crossing, we flew to nice last yr with budget airline and hired a static at holiday green in frejus, but with the car hire, flights and rental i would prefer to take our camper. just concerned that on the 2weeks hols from work, half of it would be spent travelling, any advice greatly appreciated, cheers, paul.
Yep Paul.
We are at the main campsite for 15 nights, it is to far to travel to do it for any less, which means I have to book 3 weeks of work, our modus operandi is as below.
Depart North Manchester 9am Sunday.
Board Dover ferry Sunday for 4pm crossing.
Arrive Dunkerque 7pm check into PC Hotel.
Monday PC Hotel at Chalon-Sur-Saone
Tuesday PC Hotel at Salon de Provence
Wednesday arrive at campsite noon.
Return Journey.
Depart campsite Thursday noon PC hotel at Beune.
Friday PC Hotel Dunkerque.
Saturday board Dunkerque ferry 10am crossing.
Saturday arrive home 6pm.
Job done, Premiere Classe Budget Hotels worked out at £25 each this year, and evening meals at the Campanile came to £20 per night all in for two, 5 Hotel stops in total.

many thanks francais for the info, like yourselves we tend to use the p c when in france, ideal for the three of us, the route sounds ideal for us, will have to look at 3weeks hols to enable us to make the most of the holiday, what sort of toll costs are we looking at francais from dunkerque to frejus, also would you recommend holiday green in frejus or is there a better campsite you are familar with, last time we were there, we liked st raphael very much, we did the sail to st tropaz from here for the day,
Yep Paul, done the Blue Boat from St Raphael, nice trip but the day we went they would not sail back, due to the sea state, which I think was just a porky as they only had a few punters on board.
So we had to get the Bus back, which took ages although only cost 2€ to get back to St Raphael.
That's why we drove in this year, about £5 to park the car for the day at the huge harbor car park.
If I was to do the boat thing again, would go from Les Issambres, which goes straight accross the bay, and not out to sea.
The only other Frejus campsite that we have used is "Camping Les Pins Parasols" when our Son was 7 (30 now!), it was a manic campsite, but we had a great time, not the sort of campsite we would use now, only because we have become grumpy old gits.
Toll cost via the Eastern Autoroutes was £132 so £66 each way for Class 1.
We use the APRR Tag, which bills onto my Halifax Clarity MasterCard, we went in July and the bill is not due to be paid until the end of this Month, great timing on that one.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
