Looking for a bit of advice if possible. We are visiting France next June for parents 40th wedding anniversary and although we are not camping I was hoping for some recommendations of nice villages. We are looking for somewhere in walking distance of a couple of nice villages/towns and driving distance to the coast. We are flying into Carcassonne and don't mind an hour or so drive. Thanks all in advance.

Are you looking for somewhere with hotels or somewhere to rent a house?
As villages - well small towns - we like Mirepoix which is close to Carcassonne but further from the sea, and Pezenas and Sommieres which are further from Carcassonne but closer to the sea.
But whether they have the accommodation you want I don't know.
Thank you, there will be 6 adults and 3 children so we are hoping to find a farmhouse or similar.

kenren, we have stayed at the ventenac cabardes villa, we absolutely loved it......great pool, great area, great weather, we will most definitely go there again
Yeah. Nice isn't it? We were there in September just passed. Very friendly area. The lady in the local shop used to keep back croissants and bread for us every day and by the time we had finished she knew our complete family history why we were there where we came from etc etc but we in return got the inside track on the best places to see, where to eat etc etc.
Didn't see another tourist while there though so it may not be for everybody
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
