Not stayed at that site, but stayed next to that beach. You get good waves, great for body boarding but like any beach it can be calm. (but usually wavey!)
Great beaches
Just travelling back after 3weeks of good weather at Grande Vallee ACSI 13€,the next door site to Jard.The beach is 10 mins walk plenty of sand and calm, never saw a boarder.However La Tranche seems to be more focused on wind surfing.I think that their is a Raid this weekend.
Not stayed in that site but stayed in la tranche about 10 times
Best beaches for surfing/body boarding are just round the Corner( la terrire ) jump on the free bus or a 5 minute drive
I'll be there most days from mid July- mid August
AND WATCH FOR RIPS all up that coast they are killers!

I have stayed here. It is ok, but very commercial. I have been back to this area many times and prefer to be closer to the main beech and town.
The beech opposite La Jard is not great for surfing, this is due to very shallow water for a long way out when the tide is in. The best surf is a few mins drive up the coast.
As already said La Terierre beach is much better for waves. There is a free bus that runs from the resort to it during July and August. If you decide to use your car to get there go before midday' you will get a parking space closer to the beach.
Can't comment on the site as we use Camping Bel which is much closer to the centre of La Tranche Sur Mer.
