I took the family to Camping Nautic Almata on the Costa Brava this July for a lovely holiday with Canvas Holidays. We'd like to do it all again next year - but take our own car and go by ferry. I've been looking at the prices for 2017 and they're quite a bit higher than I paid in January this year. Does anyone know if there is usually a new year sale and if it's best to wait and book then? Don't want to pay more than I have to! Thanks in advance.

dont waste your money, book direct with the campsite, or have a look at Roan.nl or tentsetters.nl not sure if they do that site but they do others in the location. I think Canvas have gone off the boil since they merged with the other company

I booked Canvas in April this year to go away in July. We got quite a good discount, and cheaper than any of the campsite statics I looked at.The van we got was modern and well equipped with plenty room for five of us. My children were pretty impressed with the kids club as well.
Have you seen the 10% off, which Canvas are currently advertising? If that is still more expensive than last year, it's likely to be because of the huge plunge in the value of the pound compared with a year ago. I don't think they do a New Year Sale - more likely they'll make late season offers, for the back end of next year, when prices can be very cheap indeed.
If you want that particular site, try directly with the site to see what they charge and compare with the Canvas Holidays prices. Otherwise another company such may offer the same site, or other sites in the area. My son got a good deal on a site in southern France, at peak time, with Vacances Soleil, booked not long before he set off. Sadly they don't offer Nautic Almata, but they do offer other sites which get better review scores in the various review websites.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
