hi all. off to Germany this year for our jollies. Ive heard you need a permit to drive in some German cities. is this correct? If so how do i get one and how much do they cost? many thanks

Yes, it's an environment zone sticker. They can be ordered from the UK, or bought in numerous places in cities that have the zone. You'll need your registration doc to prove that your vehicle conforms to Euro 4 or better.

I think the cost is about 5 Euro in Germany.

It is possible that if you are not going into the towns and cities that you might not need it. However you can go to any car dealer in Germany, armed with your V5, and they will be able to supply a sticker for around €5

What you need to be careful of is those website that offer a service to get you a sticker but charge a lot for the privilege
