Hi we have had an ATMB toll tag for three years (this will be out 3rd summer vacation with it).
Does anyone know the battery life of these things?
We don't go anywhere near the area that you can call in to whilst in France, we go from Calais to Spain via Clermont-Ferrand.
I am just worried it won't work again this year.
Can anyone help please?

We usually get ours changed after four to five years. Done this three times now and we've not had a problem so after three years you should be fine. If you are worried and to be on the safe side, I'd get it changed in advance of your holiday next year.

Is anyone taking any toll route miles into account here, or is it wiser to stick to actual age?
Or is that a case of measuring the length of a piece of string?
I suppose in theory, a more accurate account would be the number of barriers it lifts, but I guess nobody on here would know any answers for that equation... and probably nobody at Tag HQ, either!
We only go once a year, and our tag debut last year will probably be our longest. Tunnel to Frejus and back, all toll route, plus a bit of toll down there, inc. MC. A tad over 200€ worth.
Some folk may do 4 or five trips a year, and not go through as many toll booths?
Just a shame they can't advise on average use, as opposed to age... unless the age of the battery is critical, of course?

The Bip&Go website says that the tag has an average life of 5 years. I don't think any of us that use it just for holidays will come anywhere close to achieving an average usage when you consider that quite a few French residents are using the toll roads every day for travelling to work etc. Despite that the average life for them is the still the same, 5 years.
As I said before if you are worried ask for a new one after 4 years.
