Having read about using a tag to make getting through the tolls easier / quicker I decided to apply for one this year.

We are going away next week and so I wasn't expecting any charges until we return. Have just had an email advising me that my charge for July is 23 Euros. After doing some translating / searching it appears that this is a deposit plus a delivery charge.

Is this normal? I may well have missed something when signing up due to my poor French! I assume that the 20 EURO deposit will then be used against my toll charges?

confused!!

This is normal. At certain times of the year this is free but unfortunately not at the moment.
The 20 euro deposit will not be used against your toll charge. it is a deposit for the tag.
I hope you find the Tag well worth it as we have. It saves a lot of time at the peage.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your quick response.

Does that mean that if I return my tag after our trip I will get the 20 euros back? Not sure I will, we'll almost certainly keep it for next year, but would like to know if circumstances change.

Thanks

Yes you can return it for a refund if you wish, and the company will advise you of how to do that and the address to which you should send it.
