I wish to download Archies "Europe. All countries in one file" to a Garmin Drivesmart 51 satnav.
We have managed to put the maps on, but are struggling with the sites download. We can just about manage to plug the USB lead into the computer, and find Archies site.
Could anyone provide a simplistic, step by step, idiots guide please? If possible, could it go into favourites?
Many thanks for reading.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
I have a Garmin 55 and to get Archies on it, used the "Garmin Loader" software, fairly easy to do, but I seem to remember it taking quite some time.
It goes into "Custom POIs".
In fact my Garmin is a 2015 model, and I last updated the maps about a year ago.
At the time Garmin prompted me to increase memory, so my Garmin now has a 2gb Micro SD card inserted, although only around 10% has been used of the SD card.
I only downloaded ACSI and Archies for France, so you may also require a Micro SD card.
I have just completed an update using "Garmin Express" all very straightforward, but the process took well over an hour to do.
Although that could be because I am on bog std broadband with PlusNet, no fibre for me!

I can't help with the idiot's guide, but I'm sure someone else will. However, I would say don't try again this week as there is a new version due out in a week or so, with more updates than ever.
AS Francais says use the "Garmin Loader" program, and get a 16GB or larger MicroSD as the files will be far too large for the in-built storage capacity.
To subsequently find it on the system, go to "POI", then select "category". Scroll through them to the end and there will then be a section "Custom POI". Click on this and "Archies " will appear, click to open.
AS Val says there is new update imminent so hold fire for a while.

Fair comment Berriow, although I only added ACSI and Archies for France to my Garmin.
Even though we only use one campsite on our 3 week jolly in France, it is handy to bring up ACSI etc on the Garmin, to have a mooch around for other campsites in the area, or when going of on day trips, it's all good stuff for future reference, and adds to the whole holiday experience.
Although I would not go as far as adding all 32,880 campsites, 10,000 or so is more than enough for me, as I don't think you can add them by region or individually, or maybe you can.

Sorry folks, I should have added that we installed a 32Gb SD card, so should have plenty of memory.
I will have a look at the Garmin Loader, and give it a try.
Val, as we are off on our travels before next week, I'll need to load it this week.
Thanks all. I will report back on our progress.
Jim - Can you use two free Camping Cheques, which expire on 31/12/2017?
I am pretty sure that you can download Archies POI's by country rather than all of Europe. Some sat navs now have a maximum limit on files size that can be downloaded and all of Europe might be too large.
Personally I would like to offer Archie thanks for all his hard work in compiling the lists of campsite and he has got me safely to where I am going on many visits to Europe.

I reason that if I am willing to pay for ACSI, I cannot refuse to donate towards Archie's expenses.
I am not noted for my profligacy but feel the cost of just one night's camping should be sent to our friend.
So at the start that happens at the start of each year's season.
Great idea Stuart! Archie really does work long and hard on his data - hours and hours of checking details each week!! He's not paid, just a retired teacher!
