Hello, I’m new to this site. Looking for advice: We normally camp in France and choose sites that have pitches with private WC. This year we fancied trying Germany and The Black Forest, for cycling. Has anyone come across a German Chain, similar to Les Castels, or even a Site that offers private facilities? Thanks in advance.

Can't suggest a chain - I don't like chains - but Camping Munstertal in Black Forest has private facilities and is already listed on here with good reviews

The Dutch chain Landal GreenParks has sites in Germany though I don't think they do private facilities. There is this thread on here which discussed private facilities on European sites but I'm not sure if Germany was mentioned anywhere.

Groups of campsites in Germany are not as numerous as they are in France and I have never come across anything similar to Les Castels. Knaus and Azur are a couple of the groups I have come across in Germany. Generally the quality of German toilet blocks are on average a lot higher than those in France. Not come across personal facilities on pitch in Germany but some sites have bathrooms for hire in the main toilet block.
