So we’ve left it about a month later than normal to book up for our West Coast France road trip
The smaller sites we had planned are fine and already booked
So the problem we have is for the last 2 yrs we’ve had a big chunk of our trip in a Yelloh Village, but already as we anticipated they’re fully booked or astronomically priced
So what are your suggestions for alternatives in the Lacanau-Archechon area on the coast as surf is imperative
Or any similar family focused campsites which we should be looking at for caravan
We found Yelloh Village by chance so it’s not as if we prefer the group it’s more the family focused side of things really
All other sites we book are non chain sites so any suggestions would be great
Thanks all
Paul
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Have a look at [https://www.eurocampings.co.uk/campsite/search/regionID/219/]Eurocampings (ACSI Inspected) Sites[/URL] where you can select the map view to see lots of sites and click on those which are near enough to the beach to be of interest. Or you can use the advanced search criteria to select those with particular facilities that you consider make a site 'family orientated'. You can type in your dates and see which have availability.
No pool, no shop, no entertainment, non commercial and not even the right area for you. But there is a calm, clean, spacious, affordable site in the pine forest a few miles inland from the surf on the Cote Sauvage. There are just two reviews on here for Camping Atlantique Foret at Les Mathes, but we trusted them and found it just as those two discerning visitors described. My thanks to them. Would it suit you too?
Ideal camping in St George de Didonne has water slides, cafe, shop and is about 15 to 20 minutes from the Cote Savage.
Iles d'oleron has campsites and some lovely surfing beaches, have you looked there?
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
