We're looking at spending a few days here mid-June and will be approaching from Luxembourg. Looking at the map and route planners I am unsure of the best "final approach" from the motorway, with caravan in tow and a dog who is not keen on twisty roads.
Would we be better to carry on the motorway to Trier, then cross the river and follow the B51 past Konz or would we be okay to leave the A1 in Luxembourg at J13, cross over the bridge into Germany and follow the B419 along the river to Konz before picking up the B51?
Or is there another, better route?

How about south from Luxembourg on A3 then onto A13 just before border once over the Moselle take the 407 to Saarburg. the 407 is very straight for most of the way just some gentle curves here and there.

Thanks trevlunar - hadn't thought of that - sounds a much better way.

We are now in Saarburg - a lovely little town -took your advice and used the 407 from the A13. Unfortunately the road was closed about 10kms from Saarburg so we followed an exciting diversion route - no problem though. Even with the diversion it was much easier than the route I was looking at, so thanks again.
