hi all
trying to view itv hub in spain at the moment (costa brava). I signed up to the subscription abroad bit and I am currently on the 7 day free trial, but nothing will play.
I contacted the helpline before the weekend and they have verified my account is live, but still no viewing, ive contacted them again, but its a long winded process. I feel sure the problem is at my end, but i'm not very good at solving things on laptops, as a lot of it is over my head, can anyone point me in the right direction
thanks

Sorry I can’t help, the campsites we go to have challenging wi-fi, along with poor cellular coverage.
All these kind of problems are to be solved in the not to distant future when the SpaceX Starlink system gets rolled out, 1 terabyte of internet at your pitch using an antenna the size of a 10” pizza box.
All you would need is a SlingBox at home in the UK, hooked up to your Sky, Virgin, Freeview or Free-sat box, and you will be able to watch your local home tv anywhere in the world, what’s not to like.
yes , logged onto site wifi ,its around 5mps inside van, I can watch youtube clips ok, with good quality picture, watched most of canadien f1 ok, also some i.o.m. tt, wife wants to catch up on soaps via itv hub but no luck.
thanks

We have a sky Q box at home and we can set it to record stuff remotely. We are in France just now and as soon as it’s recorded we can watch it. Have you tried the sky Apps?
We’ve been watching UK TV through my Vodafone mobile phone. Don’t think you can watch through site internet as it knows you’re abroad. That’s what we’ve found in Portugal anyway.

Stu says he signed up to Hub+ which allows for watching within the EU so the VPN thing might be a red herring. https://www.itv.com/hub/plus
I wonder if it is something like firewall or anti-virus. I would never really advocate switching them off (especially on public wifi) but it might be worth a quick go to determine if that's the blocker.
The vpn I recommended is free. You switch it on and decide what you want it to do. It then runs in the background no need to switch it on and off. You then use your pc just as you would in the UK and everything just works like at home.
What could be more simple
