The problem is that reviews of a the same site at the time of the GP and other times of the year will be completely different. Also the campsites near the GP are very expensive and get booked up very quickly.

Yeah I understand that I was just looking for someone who had stayed at temp sites run next to the circuit. I know each year will be different just wanted to know if they we’re consistently bad

Mazlou, people have been asking questions like yours on Trip Advisor for the last ten years but getting conflicting answers. Try searching there.

For camping at the track itself phrases like fantastic atmosphere, overcrowding, disgusting toilets, drunkenness and vomit, great experience for party people , all crop up - it's hard to tell whether you would like it or not, or whether you would prefer a conventional campsite further away.

Camped this year at "Camping Les Ecuries F1" with our folding camper (Conway Crusader) & 5 guys. It was only the second year that they had run the site. Thoughts:

Pros
- Good location... about 15 mins walk from Les Combes entrance. They also run a shuttle up the hill for 5e per person, but we didn't feel the need to bother.
- Nice owner & staff
- Reasonably spacious site, especially compared to the bigger sites just up the hill (like the Green site) which were absolutely jammed with partying Dutchmen. They did put some folks tent right on top of us on Friday afternoon which was a bit annoying, but to be fair we were really stretching our 36m2 pitch allowance with the Crusader + awning + annex + car.
- Quieter than the other sites in terms of folks raving and fireworks & whatnot, though the electrics were run off a large, loud generator. They shut it off from 2300 to 0600 though.
- Nice on site bar with surprisingly good food, reasonable value too. Drinks expensive, but not outrageous.

Cons;
- Woefully inadequate washroom facilities - there were maybe 60ish units on site, from tents up to caravans and a couple of massive campers. For all that they had a single washroom trailer, with 2 showers, in the same shared unisex shower room, so every time 2 women went in they would lock the door, which wouldn't be so bad but for that room also containing the only sinks for the 2 toilet cubicles. Was all a bit of a debacle... constant queues for showers. Not ideal. The trailer had a 'waste disposal point' but it was very unclear whether it was for Elsan use, so we avoided using the loo in the camper, which didn't help. Hopefully they'll improve the situation next year, but who knows.
- Electrical setup was dodgy as f**k. Caravans on either side of us were hooked up to the big messy junction box sitting in we grass with regular domestic extention cables. But no-one exploded, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Even after all that, I would still probably try the same site again if I was to go next year. Despite the unfortunate washroom situation, the site atmosphere was much better than the bigger sites, which looked like post-festival wastelands by the Sunday. Reasonable price too, though that may change of course. Best advice is to get everything booked early... sites go quick!

We went to a conventional site 3 years ago at least 30 minutes away if I remember correctly.....lovely for the first couple of days, come the Saturday it was rammed, we couldn't get our car back in, people pitching at midnight and a feeling by us and another British family that we weren't welcome by the owner. Wouldn't go back to it.
