Rip off Britain

All tag users is a great assumption, and not actually true.

Rip off Britain?   As much as I hate that umbrella term as it's companies & individuals generally who rip folk off, this Emovis company in UK isn't even a British company.

Still not convinced I need a tag - been happy using cash or card for the years we've been travelling abroad. Nearly always got a passenger so no issues stretching across or the vans easy enough to get across to other side. Definitely not a must have yet.

Yep spiritburner interesting that saneftollinguk has dropped that name, but is still based in Harrogate, as for emovis their H.O. address is given as the exact same address as Bip & Go aka SANEF France.

Why Bip & Go in France do not deal with U.K. based clients anymore is bizarre especially when other Tag operators based in France do.

There was never a need for Bip & Go (SANEF) and emovis to set up office in the U.K. apart from the fact that they can make more money out of U.K. based clients than they can from French based clients.

No doubt some one is getting very rich of the emovis U.K. operation, and good luck to them I say.

I find having the Tag very handy especially when I am in the car on my own, would not be without one now, must have got my first Tag around 20 years ago.

We use Sanef tolling - got the tag on a free offer. There's a small annual charge (€4?) and then a charge in the month you use it, even though I don't travel alone, it's worth it for the ease of travel plus it bills the end of the month following so delays sone holiday costs! Definitely recommend!

Francais the emovis charges are modest and their customer service is extremely good. For the few pounds it costs per year to have this level of convenience I think it is well worth it.

You my dear Francais are a tight fisted owld git!

Tight fisted? Yet he uses Sanef where there is an annual charge. That is being profligate in my book.

On ATMB the there is only the charge when using

Well doubt if ATMB will be charging any Brits this year.

Another SANEF user and and also friends with one of the guys who initially brought the tag to the UK...Their eureka moment came when travelling back from the Le Mans 24 Hour Race one year they approached a Toll Booth and it was absolutely lashing it down with rain, in front of them a single Le Mans returnee in a Porsche had to climb out his car, walk round the other side, pay his toll, walk back round and get in the car drenched...A bet he'd pay twenty quid not to have to do that was my friends first thought...And so the seed was sown, Tag company contacted and a successful business launched...They sold up about 10 years ago

FYI there is no annual charge for either of the Tags that I have Bip&Go and APRR, and unlike emovis you can pay using your CC for which I use Halifax Clarity which gives the best exchange rate in town.

And yes David, as I am now 60 I will take that as a compliment that I am a tight owd git.
